Regardless of any stance on the fragility of the genre, Dispell continues to make interesting melodies in an unorthodox space for people who enjoy raw music based on a young adult fantasy novel. With the aid of a certain curse, one of the legacies of an earlier age belonging to crueler magic, one's own mind may become a dungeon. No incessant drips or clanking chains are necessary; by all accounts, those in thrall feel something akin to bliss. But when the spell is released, and the victims must confront what all they've done - to themselves, to loved ones, to total strangers...it is a torture worse than any inflicted directly.
